  • The Google Play link in Pinterest’s Lite article answered “Not Found” when we opened it on 17 October 2026, for the US, India and Brazil.
  • Google Play’s search for Pinterest Lite, and Pinterest’s own page of apps on Google Play, showed two apps by Pinterest: Pinterest and Shuffles by Pinterest, a collage app.
  • Without Lite, pinterest.com added to your home screen with Chrome opens like an app, with nothing to download from a store. Pinterest’s steps are below.

We checked the stores on 17 October 2026, from a US address. Stores change their listings, so check the one you open. We link only the stores’ own listings of Pinterest’s apps, by Pinterest. No APK download site, emulator or app by anyone else. Every quoted sentence is Pinterest’s own, word for word, from its help centre; the Mac’s Dock steps are Apple’s. Checked 17 October 2026.

Quick answer: Pinterest makes its app for iPhone and iPad (Apple’s App Store) and for Android (Google Play and the Amazon Appstore), and the Microsoft Store has Pinterest Inc.’s app for a Windows PC, which is a web app. Apple’s App Store lists no Pinterest app for a Mac: use pinterest.com, which Safari can put in your Dock. Pinterest’s help says Pinterest Lite is only on Android, but the Google Play page its article links answered “Not Found” when we checked on 17 October 2026. On an older phone that can’t update the app, Pinterest’s help points to Pinterest on the web.

Pinterest Lite

From Pinterest’s help article on it: Pinterest Lite is a lightweight Pinterest app that has faster download times and saves space on your device. And: Pinterest Lite is currently only available on Android. The article links Pinterest Lite on Google Play. When we opened that link on 17 October 2026 it answered “Not Found” for the US, India and Brazil. Google Play’s search for Pinterest Lite, and Pinterest’s own page of apps on Google Play, showed two apps by Pinterest: Pinterest and Shuffles by Pinterest, a collage app. Without Lite, you can install the Pinterest app, or add pinterest.com to your home screen with Chrome, which opens it like an app with nothing to download from a store. Choose Pinterest Lite in the tool above for Pinterest’s steps.

Is there a Pinterest desktop app for Windows or a PC?

For Windows, yes. Pinterest Inc. publishes a Pinterest app in the Microsoft Store, for a PC on Windows 10 version 16299.0 or higher. The Store marks it as a web app, which is Pinterest’s website in its own window, so it works like pinterest.com. Its listing says it lets you “Discover ideas from all over the web”, “Save Pins to your profile to get back to them quickly”, “Get notifications for new recommended content right on your desktop” and “Find new content to follow in a dedicated feed”. Pinterest’s help centre links the App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore for its app, not the Microsoft Store, so the Store’s listing is our source here.

Is there a Pinterest app for Mac or MacBook Air?

Not the Pinterest app. Apple’s App Store lists Pinterest for iPhone, iPad and iMessage, and opened for a Mac its listing names no Mac version. The one Mac App Store app by Pinterest, Inc. is Save to Pinterest, a Safari extension; its listing says: “It’s easier than ever to save and organize the ideas you like from all over the web with the Save to Pinterest extension.” It saves Pins from other websites; it isn’t the Pinterest app. Other Mac apps carry Pinterest’s name but aren’t made by Pinterest, and we don’t link them.

On a Mac, open pinterest.com in your browser. Apple’s Use Safari web apps on Mac puts a website in your Dock on macOS Sonoma 14 or later: “From the menu bar, choose File > Add to Dock. Or click the Share button in the Safari toolbar, then choose Add to Dock.” Choose Mac in the tool above for all of Apple’s steps.

Pinterest for iPhone and iPad

The Pinterest app is in Apple’s App Store, by Pinterest, Inc. Two figures disagree on the oldest iPhone it works on. Apple’s listing of the current version, 14.40, says “Requires iOS 16.0 or later.” Pinterest’s help names iOS 14.0: If you're using an Android device on an OS prior or equal to 7.0 or an iOS device on an OS prior to 14.0, you won't be able to update the Pinterest app. Pinterest on the web, in Safari, works on both.

Pinterest for Android: Google Play or the Amazon Appstore

Pinterest’s help links both stores for its Android app, and its update steps start: “Open the Pinterest app in the Google Play Store or Amazon Appstore with your Android device”. On Google Play the Pinterest app shows 1B+ downloads. Pinterest’s second app there, Shuffles by Pinterest, is a collage app, not Pinterest Lite.

How to update the Pinterest app

Pinterest’s help asks you to stay up to date: If you're using a version of the iOS app prior to 14.0 or a version of the Android app prior to 7.0, you'll need to upgrade to the most recent version or use mobile-web to keep using Pinterest. On an iPhone or iPad, Pinterest’s steps are to open the App Store, search for the Pinterest app and tap Update. On Android, open the Pinterest app in Google Play or the Amazon Appstore and tap Update. If the app updates and still won’t work, the Pinterest Not Working tool has Pinterest’s steps for each problem.

Pinterest on an older phone

Pinterest’s help: If you're using an Android device on an OS prior or equal to 7.0 or an iOS device on an OS prior to 14.0, and can't upgrade, you can use Pinterest on the web. Add pinterest.com to your home screen: with Chrome on Android, tap the three-dot button and Add to Home screen; with Safari on an iPhone, tap the share icon and Add to Home Screen. Choose An older phone above for both sets of steps. If an old copy of the app is still installed, Pinterest’s help adds: If you have the app installed, some links on Pinterest will still try to open with the app. Uninstalling the app from this device will allow you to view those links in your mobile browser instead.

Pinterest APK downloads

We don’t link APK download sites. Pinterest’s help points to its app on Google Play and the Amazon Appstore for Android, and those are the listings this page links. For a phone that can’t install the current app, Pinterest’s own answer is Pinterest on the web. Using Pinterest without an account? The Pinterest Without an Account tool has what opened for us logged out, and the Can’t Log In to Pinterest tool has Pinterest’s steps when the app won’t let you in.
