On Android, tap and hold the Pinterest app icon, tap Widgets, tap the widget and tap Add. An iPhone or iPad gets three Pinterest widgets (home feed, boards and interests); Android gets the home feed widget. There is no Pinterest widget for a computer. The tool above gives Pinterest’s steps for your phone.
How to add a Pinterest widget on an iPhone or iPad
From Pinterest’s Add a Pinterest widget: download or update the Pinterest app first. Then tap and hold an empty space on your home screen until the apps begin moving, tap Edit at the top left, and tap Add Widget. Type ‘Pinterest’ in the search bar and tap Pinterest. Swipe to the widget type and size you want, tap Add Widget, then Done at the top right. To set it up, tap and hold the widget and tap Edit Widget. Pinterest points to Apple for the rest: For more help creating widgets on iOS devices, visit Apple’s support site.
How to add a Pinterest widget on Android
Update the Pinterest app, then tap and hold the Pinterest app icon until its menu appears and tap Widgets. Tap the widget and tap Add. Pinterest adds one more line for Android: Tap and hold down on your widget to create a stack, remove or move it
.
Which Pinterest widgets are there?
Pinterest’s table names three, and only one of them is on Android:
- Home feed widget (iPhone, iPad and Android):
A home feed widget displays Pins from your home feed.
- Boards widget (iPhone and iPad only):
A boards widget displays Pins saved to a selected board. You can choose to display Pins from your own board or from a board created by a Pinner you follow.
- Interests widget (iPhone and iPad only):
An interests widget displays Pins based on a topic you’re interested in. You can choose from interests including home decor, inspirational quotes, beauty, food and fashion.
You don’t pick the Pins one by one: The Pins that appear on Pinterest widgets are automatically selected.
Show one of your boards on the widget
That is the boards widget, on an iPhone or iPad. Add a Pinterest widget as above, choosing the boards type. Then tap and hold it on your home screen, tap Edit Widget, tap Choose next to Board, and pick the board (or search for its name). It can be one of your boards or a board of a Pinner you follow. Pinterest’s help gives these steps for a board, not for picking an interest.
Change, move, resize or remove the Pinterest widget
On an iPhone or iPad, tap and hold the widget, then choose Edit Widget or Remove Widget. On Android, tap and hold the widget and tap Remove. On both, you move it by holding it and dragging it to another place on the home screen. To resize it, hold it, release it to enter edit mode, drag the anchor points, then tap outside the widget.
Pinterest widget not working on your iPhone or Android
If your widget isn’t displaying correctly, try the following troubleshooting tips:
Open the Pinterest app and make sure you’re logged in
Update the Pinterest app to the latest version
Make sure to enable Background App Refresh for the Pinterest app
(Apple’s page on it)Restart your device and check to make sure it’s using the latest iOS software
Remove the widget and create a new one following the steps above
Uninstall and reinstall the Pinterest app on your device
Pinterest gives one list for both phones: Background App Refresh and the iOS update are iPhone and iPad settings. Its help gives these tips, not a reason a widget stops showing Pins. If the app itself won’t load, the Pinterest Not Working tool has Pinterest’s fixes, and the Contact Pinterest page shows where to write to it.
Looking for a Pinterest widget for your website?
This page is the widget on a phone’s home screen. A widget that shows your Pins or boards on your own website is code: the Pinterest Save Button & Widget Code Generator makes it. Not sure which Pinterest app your phone or computer needs? Which Pinterest App? answers that.
