Make the mood board

Quick answer: a wedding palette works best as five colors with five jobs: a main color guests remember, an accent in small doses, a neutral for linens and paper, a deep color that anchors it (suits, greenery, the words on signs) and a metal. Pick one of our palettes above, or type your own main color and pick the season, and the generator builds the other four. Download the palette as a pin for your Pinterest wedding board, or open a mood board in the same colors.

How the generator builds a palette from your color

Your color stays the main color. The other four come from the season you pick, worked out in the color model that matches what eyes see (CIE LCh: lightness, strength and hue):

  • Spring: a light, soft accent a step round the color wheel, an ivory neutral, a muted deep shade of your color.
  • Summer: an accent from the opposite side of the wheel, a crisp off-white, a deep version of your color.
  • Fall: an accent pulled toward amber, a warm cream, a chocolate brown anchor.
  • Winter: a jewel-tone accent, a cool white, a near-black version of your color.

Each color gets the name of the closest of the 57 colors we have named (sage, dusty blue, terracotta and more), and the metal follows your color's warmth: gold for most colors, copper for warm colors in fall, rose gold for pinks in spring and summer, and silver for cool colors in spring and summer and for any color but a warm one in winter. Every color stays inside what a screen can show, so the HEX codes are exact.

Which wedding colors do people search for most?

Google's own search counts for the United States (Google Ads Keyword Planner, average monthly searches, read 4 October 2026) put fall first among the seasons: 2,900 searches a month for "fall wedding color palette", against 1,000 for spring, 720 for summer and 590 for winter. Among single colors, sage green leads (590), ahead of blue (390), beach colors (320), dusty blue (170) and terracotta (110). That is what people look for, not a forecast of what is in fashion.

FAQ

How many colors should a wedding palette have?
Three to five is easy to work with. This generator gives five because each has a job: the main color and the accent are what guests notice, the neutral and the deep color hold everything together, and the metal is for rings, cutlery and foil. If five feels like a lot, keep the main color, the neutral and the metal.
Can I use my own color?
Yes. Type its HEX code (from a fabric swatch, a paint chip or a photo) or tap the color square, then pick the season. To get the HEX code of a color in a photo, use our color palette from image tool.
Are these the wedding color trends for this year?
No. The palettes and the color names are ours, made as starting points. We do not claim any of them is in fashion; the searches above show only what people look for.
Will the colors look the same in real life?
Not exactly. Screens and printers show colors differently, and fabric, flowers and paper each take a color their own way. Use the HEX codes to talk to your florist, stationer and dress shop, then check real samples in daylight.
Is it free, and does it save anything?
It is free, with no account. Nothing you choose is sent to us. A link you copy opens the same palette; the title you type for the pin stays on your device.
