How many people use Pinterest
Pinterest reports its users every quarter. In its second-quarter 2026 results (published 4 August 2026), global monthly active users rose 11% in a year, from 578 million to 640 million. The US and Canada grew slowest (102 to 106 million, +4%), Europe by 8% (146 to 157 million), and the rest of the world fastest (329 to 377 million, +15%). An MAU is Pinterest's own definition: We define an MAU as an authenticated Pinterest user who visits our website, opens our mobile application or interacts with Pinterest through one of our browser or site extensions, such as the Save button, at least once during the 30-day period ending on the date of measurement.
Pinterest demographics in the US: Pew's survey
The Pew Research Center asks a national sample of US adults which platforms they ever use. Its last survey to ask about Pinterest ran from February 1 to June 10, 2024 (Social Media Fact Sheet, archived). Its 2025 survey did not include Pinterest. The 2024 figures:
- All US adults: 36%.
- By gender: women 51%, men 19%.
- By age: 18–29 43%, 30–49 43%, 50–64 33%, 65 and older 22%.
- By household income: under $30,000 29%, $30,000–$69,999 34%, $70,000–$99,999 39%, $100,000 or more 40%.
- By community: urban 31%, suburban 37%, rural 39%.
Pew publishes each group on its own, not combined (there is no figure for, say, women aged 18 to 29), so the checker shows each trait you pick separately.

Why Pinterest's and Pew's figures differ
They answer different questions. Pew asks what share of a group of US adults ever use Pinterest; Pinterest's 70% women is the share of its audience that is women, and its reach figures come from Comscore's panel, in different age bands from Pew's. Neither is wrong, and they can't be averaged: the checker shows both, each under its own name.
