This Privacy Policy explains how PinPinterest Analytics (“PinPinterest”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and safeguards your information when you visit pinpinterest.com or create an account. We believe in collecting as little as possible and being clear about what we do with it.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you create an account or use the contact form, we collect your email address and, if you provide them, your name and message.
Free tools. If you ask one of our free tools to email you its link or your results, we collect the email address you type. The e-mail service we run sends you that email, and you also join the PinPinterest newsletter.
Account & billing. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor handles your card details; we store only what we need to manage your subscription (we never see your full card number).
Digital products. If you buy a kit, pack or report, we record what you bought and, each time you download or open it, the time, the file, your IP address and the kind of device. We keep that record for 18 months: it is what lets us tell whether a purchase was opened (our refund rule depends on it) and the evidence a card company asks for if a payment is disputed.
Affiliates. If you join our affiliate programme, we store the PayPal email address you give us for payouts and a record of the commission earned on customers you referred. We use it only to pay you.
One free trial per person. When you create an account or sign in, we keep a one-way code made from your browser’s settings and this browser visit (never your browsing), so the same browser cannot start a second free trial. The code kept at a sign-in is deleted after 30 days.
Usage data. Like most websites, our servers and privacy-respecting analytics may log basic technical data such as your browser type, referring page and approximate region to keep the site secure and understand what’s useful.
Free tool visits. Our free tools pages keep a random visit code in your browser for 30 days, so we count each visitor once. If you then create an account, we note that code on it, so we know whether people try a free tool before they sign up.

We do not ask you to connect your Pinterest account to use PinPinterest, and we never collect your Pinterest password.

The PinPinterest browser extension

Our extension for Chrome and Microsoft Edge (“Sort Pins & Pin Stats for Pinterest”) works only on pinterest.com pages and needs no PinPinterest account; connecting one is optional (below).

What it reads. Only what your own Pinterest page has already loaded: the saves, the date, the reactions and the account and board names Pinterest sent your browser for the pins on that page. It reads them inside your browser, and no pin, search or page you visit leaves your browser. It makes no requests to Pinterest of its own and never acts on your Pinterest account.
What it keeps, in your browser only. Your choices (badges shown or hidden, the sort, the minimum saves), the day you installed it, how many times you sorted or filtered a page and on which days (so it can ask once, after real use, whether you would rate it), whether you answered that question, and a random install number made when you installed it, which says nothing about you. And the pins you have seen, so it can show how many saves a pin gained since you first saw it and list an account’s pins in a table: for each pin, its number, saves, created date, the public account and board it is on, and the days you saw it (never its picture, title or description), plus the pins you chose to watch. It keeps at most 20,000 pins and drops the ones you saw longest ago first; a watched pin stays until you stop watching it. All of this stays in your browser’s storage for the extension, is never sent to us or anyone, and is deleted when you remove the extension.
If you connect your PinPinterest account. It is optional. You paste a key from Settings › API on pinpinterest.com into the extension’s menu, and the extension keeps it in your browser’s storage for the extension, never on the Pinterest page. Then, on a Pinterest search, it sends us the keyword you searched, with the key, and shows our numbers for that keyword above the results; each keyword counts as one lookup of your account, like our API. A press on “Save to my keywords” sends that keyword again, to save it in your account. Nothing else from the page is sent. “Disconnect” in the menu, or removing the extension, deletes the key from your browser.
What it sends. Nothing on its own, apart from the searched keyword of a connected account (above). The other exception is your click: if the extension cannot read a page and you press “Tell us”, it sends us the kind of page (search, home, ideas, pin, board, profile or other) and the extension’s version number, and nothing else. A link you click from the extension to pinpinterest.com opens our page like any other visit, with the name of the link you used and the random install number; if you then make a PinPinterest account or sign in, the account keeps that number, so we can count how many accounts the extension brought. When you remove the extension, your browser opens one page of ours with the same number, and we count that removal once.

2. How we use your information

To create and manage your account and provide the service.
To process your subscription and billing if you choose a paid plan.
To respond to your questions and provide support.
To operate, secure and improve our website and service.

We email you about your account, your requests and important service updates. We also send our newsletter to account holders and to anyone who asked one of our free tools to email them. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

3. We never sell your data

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it with the service providers that help us run PinPinterest (for example, email delivery and hosting), under agreements that require them to protect it.

We also share limited information with advertising measurement partners (Google, Microsoft and Reddit) so we can tell which ads led to a sign-up. Where you have consented, or where consent is not required in your region, this includes a hashed (irreversible SHA-256) version of your email address sent alongside the sign-up or purchase event. We never send your email address in readable form for this purpose, and these partners may only use it to match the conversion to an ad click.

4. Cookies and advertising

We use cookies necessary to run the site, and analytics and advertising cookies to measure our marketing — Google Analytics and Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, and the Reddit pixel. These tell us which campaigns bring people to PinPinterest. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site works the same either way.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, advertising and analytics storage are switched off by default and are only enabled if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which restores the default.

Ads on PinPinterest. Some of our public pages show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons and your IP address, to show and measure those ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other websites. How Google uses this information: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can turn off personalised ads at https://myadcenter.google.com. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent first.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure how quickly pages load. It is cookieless: it sets nothing on your device, stores nothing in your browser, and does not track you across sites or build a profile of you. Because it stores nothing, it is not part of the cookie banner above and runs for every visitor — there is nothing to switch off, and nothing that would identify you if there were.

5. Data retention

We keep your account and contact information until you ask us to delete it or it is no longer needed for the purposes above. The download record of a digital product is kept for 18 months. You can request deletion at any time (see below).

6. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] and we’ll take care of it promptly.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work hard to safeguard your data and limit access to it.

8. Children

PinPinterest is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email where appropriate.
