Pinterest Catalog Feed Checker
Paste your catalog’s header row and a few products, as CSV or TSV, or one XML item. See what Pinterest’s own catalog rules would refuse before you upload it. Nothing is uploaded or fetched.

Pinterest would refuse this catalog: 7 problems to fix
Pinterest’s rule: Your retail catalog needs to include the following fields, formatted exactly as you see them. If they’re missing, or formatted incorrectly, your entire retail catalog will fail ingestion.
Every rule is from Pinterest Business Help, Get started with retail catalogs, checked 3 October 2026. Your feed is read on your device: it is never uploaded, its links are never opened, and the link to this page never includes it.
Quick answer: Pinterest needs seven columns in every retail catalog, written exactly as it writes them: id, title, description, link, image_link, price and availability (plus item_group_id when products have variants). Its help says that if they are missing or formatted incorrectly, the entire catalog fails. Paste your feed’s first rows above to see what it would refuse: a price with a currency symbol, a description in HTML, a link without http://, a value Pinterest does not list.
How to use it
- Open your feed (the CSV, TSV or XML file your shop or feed app makes) and copy the header row and a few products. Or copy one
<item>from an XML feed. - Paste it in the box. The checker reads it on your device and lists every problem by product and column.
- Fix the red ones first. Those are Pinterest’s required fields: one of them wrong fails the whole catalog. The amber ones are worth tidying.
Pinterest’s required fields
id: a unique ID for each product, up to 127 characters.title: the product’s name as on its page, including variant details such as colour and size, up to 500 characters.description: up to 10,000 characters,in plain text (not HTML)
. For HTML there is a separatedescription_htmlcolumn.link: the product’s own page, starting with http:// or https://, up to 511 characters.image_link: the main image, up to 2,000 characters, starting with http:// or https://, with no commas: Pinterest says toencode or remove commas
.price: a number with its ISO 4217 currency code before or after it, such as24.99 USDorGBP 24.99. Without a code Pinterest reads US dollars.Do not use 0 values or currency symbols.
availability: one ofin stock, out of stockorpreorder.
Optional columns such as brand, condition, gender, size_type and product_type have their own limits and lists of values, and the checker reads those too.
Formatting tips from Pinterest
If you're using a CSV, we recommend wrapping your values in double quotes to avoid any possible parsing issues
. A comma inside an unquoted value splits it into two columns.Check that you have the same number of delimiters in each row and column
.- The file must be saved as UTF-8.
