Free Pinterest keyword checker
Type any phrase into this Pinterest keyword tool and we will tell you what we actually measured for it: how much people save the pins that rank for it, how many pins are competing, and how hard it looks to break in. Three checks are free and need no account.
What the number means
Pinterest shows search volume only to advertisers, as ranges inside its ads tools, and it is not public. What we measure is the saves earned by the pins that rank for a phrase. We sum those saves across everything we have crawled for the phrase and call the result estimated demand, because that is what it is — a measure of how much people engage with the results, not a count of searches.
What a Pinterest keyword tool should tell you
Four things, and which number is which. Demand: how much people engage with what ranks for the phrase, here as estimated demand from saves. Competition: how many pins are fighting for it and how concentrated the saves are. The pins winning it: what ranks right now, so you can see what works before you make anything. Related keywords: the phrases next to yours that may be easier to win. The free check gives the first three for one phrase at a time, plus one keyword like it. A paid plan adds every related keyword, not just one, and tracks where your own pins rank for each.
Why competition matters more than demand
A phrase with enormous demand and 40,000 competing pins is worse than a quieter one with 600. The checker shows both, plus a difficulty read built from how concentrated the saves are: when a handful of giant pins take most of the engagement, a new pin has nowhere to land. Chase the beatable phrase, not the biggest one.
See the pins that are winning it
Every check comes with the top pins currently ranking for that phrase, so you can look at what is working before you make anything — the format, the crop, the title length, whether video is doing better than a still. That is usually more useful than the numbers above it.

Questions
Three checks are free with no account and no card. After that you create a free account. The free plan takes no card: 5 keyword checks a day, the pins ranking behind each one, and rank tracking on 5 keywords. Every feature can be tried for 14 days with a card. We can afford to leave the first three open because the checker reads keywords we have already crawled, so a lookup costs us nothing.
From public Pinterest search results we crawl and score ourselves. For a keyword, we look at the pins that rank for it and the saves those pins have earned. Nothing here comes from your account, and you do not connect one.
Because the count of searches is not ours to give. Pinterest shows search volume only to advertisers, as ranges inside its ads tools, and it is not public. What we measure is the saves earned by the pins that rank for a phrase. That engagement is a real signal we can stand behind. Calling it search volume would be a nicer-sounding number and a false one.
Then we say so, and we suggest phrases we do have the data for. We never invent a number for a keyword we have not crawled — an estimate with nothing behind it is worse than an honest blank.
Both, for the step that comes first: choosing the phrase. Pinterest SEO starts with the keyword a pin, its title and its board are built around, and this checker tells you whether a phrase is worth that work before you make anything: its estimated demand, how many pins compete for it and the pins winning it now.
Both. Check a seed phrase and the answer adds one keyword like it, with its own number; when we hold nothing for a phrase, it gives the closest keyword we do measure. A paid plan lists every related keyword, not just one.
The checker answers one phrase at a time. An account adds the things that need to remember you: rank tracking on the keywords you choose, competitor accounts watched for you, pin-health alerts, and the full list of pins behind every keyword rather than the top few.
Track these keywords instead of checking them
